Charmin was my family’s favorite for years, but these 8 toilet paper brands are better. Initiated in 1928, Charmin was first created by the Hoberg Paper Company. Its name changed from Hoberg to Charmin Paper Company in 1950. In 1957, Procter & Gamble (P&G) took over Charmin Paper Company.
For many years, Charmin has been a popular toilet paper brand for many households. First, there’s the Ultra Soft, if you’re looking for incredibly soft toilet paper. Then, there’s the Ultra Strong, which is longer-lasting. For those with sensitive skin, the Ultra Gentle will help take out the sting with the added soothing lotion on each sheet. If you are looking for the best value, then there are the Essentials Soft or Strong. And finally, the Charmin Flushable Wipes to keep handy when you’re on the go. There seems to be a Charmin toilet paper that suits everyone’s needs.
However, while Charmin has been a reliable friend in the bathroom kingdom, my family’s tastes changed. It was time to explore the toilet paper realm.
Cottonelle
Produced by Kimberly-Clark Cottonelle is a popular American toilet paper brand. Cottonelle is the only brand that has CleaningRipples on the paper for better down-there care. I find this toilet paper great. It’s very absorbent, doesn’t tear easily, and it has a slight scent.

Finally, when it comes to toilet paper, I can be quite picky. My kids always use too much toilet paper, so I’m all for a brand that doesn’t clog the toilet. Charmin was my family’s favorite for years, but these 8 toilet paper brands are better.
