If you're a fan of chinese food, Yee Fung Laksa is definitely worth checking out. This restaurant serves up delicious and authentic Malaysian dishes at sensible prices, making it a popular choice for diners from all over Malaysia and even beyond. The most popular dish on the menu is undoubtedly the curry laksa - a thin noodle soup filled with prawns and shredded chicken that's sure to please any palate.

Famous restaurant which is always packed but food was very quick.Nice open air dining room. Food was very delicious. The famous laksa was tasty, the curry was intense. Top with pulled chicken, dry tofu and shrimps. We order salted lemon tea (with plum I think) was very good too.

Very organised and systematic. I thought the long queue will take ages for us to have our lunch but to my surprise, those who finish eating quickly leave and the workers clean the table and let us sit super fast. I think everyone who are working inside are family members. Food taste yummy. Shop is clean. They serve your food and drinks super fast as well. 👍

Laksa is highly recommended here but really to the local, I reckon. Ordered the "special laksa" (rm20) comes with 3 prawns, just not my liking, even the craypot chicken rice really overcooked till the rice is soft, the chilli n toast are goods thou... others than that leave it to the local... wonder why there's Q n packed during weekend 🤔... really just leave it to the local...

If you're missing Sarawak Laksa and you're in Sabah, this is the place to go! And for those who don't eat pork, no worries, because they don't serve any here! It's a bit touristy, so be prepared to wait in line before getting your delicious food. They open at 6:30 am, and people start coming non-stop from then on. But if you don't feel like having laksa, don't worry, they also serve Ngui Chap and Clay Pot Rice, so there are options for everyone. The whole system here is pretty well-organized and quick, so you won't have to wait for too long. Oh, and when they serve your food, you'll need to pay right away. Lastly, the place is super clean, no doubt about that! 🍜

A simple restaurant that serves delicious good food.My favourite pick is their laksa, which is actually Laksa Sarawak. The broth was very flavourful and satisfying. The wan tan soup was fairly good, too, and so was their kaya toast.Service was pretty fast, and cleanliness is well maintained. They are likely busy over the weekends, especially on Sunday during the morning Street Market. Hence, you may be asked to share a table with other patrons.

The Yee Fung Laksa is one of the best in Malaysia. The gravy, condiments and noodles jive magnificently to create an indescribable taste on the pallate. The additional thick Sambal leaves an Unforgettable lip smacking aftertaste which still sticks in my mind. Liquid Opium on fire.I will definitely return to get my Laksa fix in the near future.

Obiwan K — Google review

Despite the melting heat, the Laksa is extraordinary. Every spoonful is a party. Noodles soak up the rich, spiced broth. Savory, Sweet and Spicy - a celebration of tastes and textures in one bowl. Fragant Curry broth bursting with complex flavour.

Food was great as alwaysMostly full house during weekend but you will get your seat after short queue as their service very fastOrder your food at the entrance then you will be assigned to your seat. Food arrived less than 5 mins.Highly recommended

The most memorable Laksa I've ever had! Also incredibly good service, fast and efficient.Laksa is a thick noodle soup with scrumptious toppings such as cilantro, lemon, shredded omelette/eggs, bean sprouts etc. On my first day, I had a beef soup which tasted very good, but nothing beats the Laksa! So I came back every day and ordered their incredibly delicious Laksa. You are greeted at the entrance where you make your order simultaneously while waiting to be seated as this place is almost always busy. If you are solo, you can share a table with others to save some time.

Nice Sarawak Laksa, a bit low on vegetables i.e. bean sprouts. The cardboard bowl is appreciated as a change to plastic and styrofoam packaging. Nice soup with a variety of ingredients, it didn't wow me as much as I thought it would based on the raving reviews but still a nice meal.

We had early breakfast at 7.20 am. It wasn't crowded at all. The laksa tasted great. It looks like Sarawak laksa but it tasted different. More coconut milk I guess. It's worth trying 😋The beef noodle was just ordinary. Fresh beef with delicious soup.

In heart of Kota Kinabalu China town there's there's that amazing place. It's busy and buzzing, with lots of people. But still your order come really fast. Food is the star here. Laksa is delicious, with creamy coconut broth and strong curry scent. I have also ordered claypot chicken rice - lovely smoke and burnt in the edge, with tender chicken pieces and soft boiled egg on the top. Lemon ice tea to wash it down.

One of the recommended laksa noodle shop in KK. Service- fast 💨, spacious- easy to find a table. I ordered the simple- ordinary laksa noodle- came with 2 fresh prawns 🦐- the broth is tasty- I preferred mine to be more spicy- added more sambal belacan to it. The portion is quite reasonable. I’m not sure if peninsula ppl do agree with me or it’s just me- I still prefer our peninsula laksa taste- more savoury, more spicy.. “ours” just taste 👅 greater.Haha 😂- no offence to Sabah/ Sarawak ppl- personal preference ya. Coming back- I will- if I’m back to KK. Laksa is my favourite 😻

A recommended local coffee shop to visit in Sabah! They serve Laksa, unique noodles texture. The laksa can be abit like Singapore kind of curry noodles. Or your Nissin Curry noodles. Oh, try their fishball soup too. The fishball is so soft and yummy. One of the best I ever eaten. You can put your fishball into the Laksa. 😅 Meanwhile, the wanton/dumpling, so-so only. Understand it’s popular among the locals and tourists, so you may need to queue awhile. But the turnover is pretty fast. Just wait. And don’t be taken aback by the long queue. 😂 they serve claypot chicken rice too. But we were too full to try.

Laksa was good. Vegetables were amazingly fresh and delicious. Claypot chicken rice was good. Iced Lemon lime juice fantastic. Highly recommended place.

This place seemed quite highly rated and was also recommended by our guide. We got the laksa and fish ball noodles, with garlic and oyster sauce lettuce on the side. The laksa was quite tasty - it is quite a bit more on the lemak side (more coconut milk). The fish ball noodles were a bit bland in our opinion as we ended up piling lots of the chilli oil on top. The lettuce was tasty though! The place was incredibly busy though and there was a constant queue for seats. But service is super speedy and tables were shared so wait times aren't actually so bad.

Charmaine O — Google review

Food ordering while at queue. Food serving is fast considering the crowd (full house). Recommend the Sarawak Laksa.

Tham C — Google review

Delicious foods, no regret 😋Fair price for foods and drinks, services is at par but inside the restaurant is typically warm 😅I believe it always crowded, Need Q up but turnover is very fast, hence no need long wait, the street is typically busy too, hence parking should be an issue, but if visit during oublic holiday it should be fine for parking.Attached pictures all is Delicious yaay..Payment can be use card, cash or eWallet. Will i come again ? yes!

Everything we tried was delicious, claypot chicken and rice especially, good laksa, good cookies, great value. Queue can get a bit long but it goes quickly. We ate here 3 days in a row.

Matt P — Google review

There will always be a line here as it is one of the hottest places to visit for a good bite. Closes on mondays and wednesdays. The crowded line here clears relatively quickly in part due to their very efficient system in making your orders come quick and the service is really fantastic. The highlight of this place; the laksa is mild to the taste and quite unique, much different from the strong taste of the seafood laksas that you can find in other places. A perfect place to have breakfast in the land below the wind.

Meaty E — Google review

My first taste of Sabah laksa in Sabah. Taste wise is just nice to me, the curry is like normal curry, not too much santan. The Ngau Chap is very delicious to me, as its soup is of thick and fragrance. A lot of tourists eating here, and of course it’s tourists price too.

Cheah K — Google review

Best laksa in KK. Well organized despite many people. Wish they had air conditioning as it was very hot, heat from the open kitchen I guess.

Shariman R — Google review

Always come here for their Sarawak laksa, the laksa broth is not too creamy and not too spicy, you can customize it by adding more sambal (chili) or lime accordingly to your preference. Great customer service and swift order or food serving time!

Kel T — Google review

This is the 2nd time I had my Yee Fung Laksa in KK. Very tasty, enjoyable fresh yet not very hot spicy noodles.Good place to visit.I gave the "Atmosphere" 2* because the restaurant is very noisy, packed full with more than customers than the health department would allowed.Again, where else, that is KK, in Sabah.Cheers!!!20240913lyl

We reached the restaurant at about 7 a.m., and there was already a queue. Fortunately, the queue cleared very quickly, and we were able to get a table within 3 minutes. We ordered their famous Laksa and dry noodles. The Laksa lived up to its reputation, and the dry noodles were ordinary. Prices were very reasonable. Although we were not exactly blown away by the food, it is a place for a cheap and good breakfast. The service was excellent, too.

LP P — Google review

Good place for breakfast: besides the Laksa that is its most popular item, we tried the fish ball bee hoon soup and the claypot chicken rice. The laksa tends towards Singapore-style with a bit of sour aftertaste. The fish balls were fresh, bouncy, and savoury. The claypot rice has thick wok flavour, with a poached egg atop that add to its colour.

A typical coffee stall with crowds during lunch hours .. food is so so only. hot & stuffy, suggest take away if staying nearby

Charles C — Google review

The shop is full of tourist. Laksa and beef noodle also quite nice. Teh tarik is better than the coffee.

Alex L — Google review

Yee Fung Laksa. This group they don't like sarawak laksa, they still prefer nyonya laksa. But their kitchai (asam boi) really out of the world. Really quench your thirst.

Prince F — Google review

very popular place, queue was approx 20 mins when we went on a Friday afternoon but they take your order while you’re in the queue such that once we were seated down, the food arrived almost immediately.definitely worth trying the sarawak laksa! 👍🏻

Hui L — Google review

The curry noodles offer a taste beyond ordinary, though not exceptionally delightful. especially recommended is the Yee Fung Laksa King, featuring pleasantly surprising fresh prawns. ** inside of the restaurant is very HOT

Adrian C — Google review

Lots of people. Tried the laksa, fish ball and wonton. Laksa not too spicy. The fish ball texture quite good. However, it's quite pricey for the food offered

Vincent W — Google review

Service fast. While you queuing outside they ask for your orderWhen you seated for less than 1 minutes your order is served and you need to pay.Crowded space. Good for tourists drop-by to try their special laksa.Food taste food for me, prawns is fresh.

Stephen W — Google review

We came here as it was highly recommended by our driver. We ordered the Yee Fung Laksa, Claypot Chicken rice, Beans sprouts, madrasah tea ( cold & hot ). Unfortunately we found the laksa not to our liking as we were used to the traditional Nyonya Laksa or the Assam Laksa from mainland Malaysia. The broth is not flavourful. Also the claypot chicken rice was rather bland. The only we dish we enjoyed was the bean sprout. The service was prompt and efficient and the queue cleared quite fast.

Simon K — Google review

The laksa tastes pretty good, but I wouldn’t say it was the best I ever had; definitely had a lot better ones elsewhere outside of Kota Kinabalu. The beef soup was really nice and the tea was also nice!

Ubi — Google review

The laksa here is really ordinary. Milder taste than the ones we are used to in West Malaysia. The claypot chicken tasted burnt! Apparently, that’s part of the flavor profile! Yet this kopi tiam is filled with people while its many neighbors are empty! I guess what’s really going for it is its acceptable food quality but cheaper pricing and thus greater value.

Luc — Google review

They are very efficient way at getting through the crowds of people looking for breakfast. Review menu and order before seated and it’s delivered almost instantly. Delicious laksa and iced tea.

Jill M — Google review

The prawn laksa is terrible. It came with three large shrimp, but two of them were not fresh and had blackened heads. Only one shrimp was fresh. The other food was okay.

Yip C — Google review

Arrived here around 7am and it is full house already, mainly visited by tourist during that hour. Just waited less than 3 mins to be seated and it is quite hot since there is no aircon so recommended to come here early morning rather than hot blazing afternoon xDOrdered their popular main course with is the yee fung laksa and ngau chap. Laksa taste is more towards santan flavor which is quite good with two medium size prawn, you can request to add extra soup since the noodles does soak it up over time. While for the ngau chap, soup taste herbally and the the mixture of beef cuts are fresh.Other pairing dishes like fish ball is quite bouncy and tasty and the vegetable is fresh and not overcooked which give a good bite as well. One thing i'm quite surprise is their condiments, the red sauce is more like tabasco which kinda pair well with the ngau chap and another thick brownish sauce is really not my thing...can't seems to fit any profile of the dishes...it might meant for laksa i guess....?Drinks are quite good as well, my cham ice and the ice lemon tea, both pass the average standard. Do yourself a favour and order cool drink to fight with the heat xDAnother famous dish is the claypot chicken rice seems to be must order and seen at most of the dining table, can smell the charred rice across the eatery hahaRecommended for sure, they do accept duitnow QR as payment method.

Famished after two fun days of hiking and retreat at kundasang, and Yee Fung came to everyone's mind.Sure it's kinda a tourist spot but I enjoyed that they kept it as local as possible. Food and service was fantastic but you definitely need to pick your visits because they can got ridiculously busy.Atmosphere lucked out a little as the ventilation was expectedly poor and could do with some better cooling agents but that's not important.

Aaron L — Google review

This restaurant is just lovely, the Yee Fung laksa is so delicious we visited twice. It can get a little busy but the staff are kind and attentive. The service is very quick!
